This overview reflects the most important findings on completion of the 10-step process in the ReUrbA² lifestyle learning environment.
The current and future lifestyles as reflected by the moodboard have been identified as the ones for which this neighbourhood will be planned for in the next decade or so. They have been selected with the general demographic shifts and the specific political ambitions for this neighbourhood in mind.
This moodboard reflects the kind of social and living environment that would attract the lifestyles as identified above. Furthermore, people are either looking for a comfortable home with, for example, parking facilities close by, in which case this neighbourhood will have to compete with the suburbs, or a living and social environment with lots of character and a unique identify. Which do you offer?

In order to create these living and social environments to attract the lifestyles as identified, the following should or should not be done:
|
Must do convincing property owners to invest in the upper storsy or leave them to a third party who does |
Must not do Do not leave upper floors vacant. |
| Must do Serious upgrading and creatin easy access / tarnsparency towards the riverside. Building staircases to the water; peers and bridges. | Must not do Not just putting new flowerpots and benches. |
| Must do improve attractiveness for older owners / renters already living there; PLUS: attracting younger people at the same time | Must not do Not playing one group against the other one. |
| Must do a permanent down town campus, ... | Must not do Only developping the ground floors into retail. |
A transitional phase is needed in which pioneers from these lifestyles and who are willing to invest are attracted to the area. In order to attract these pioneers some temporary facilities are needed. This is what you start with tomorrow!
There are institutional investors, but their investment is not about residential uses. We do not know about private investors for residential uses yet. There might be young people investing in upper-storey flats if they get them for free (House owners ( investors say they are obsolete for their plans as there is now return on investment).
We do not know yet. There is a very active culture / event scene in SB. If they could get won for getting into the housing sector...?
"Sky Bar", art gallery, a club?, a downton campus?
